La pauvreté: un mal discret?
This article examines different representations of poverty in Senufo society (West Africa). in songs found in the popular oral literature, poverty is treated as a kind of discreet suffering. in informal discourse, by contrast, it is treated more crudely and becomes a marker of identity. The heterogeneity of these representations reflects differing positions of social actors in society and raises the question of how these interact with the logic of development in rural Africa.
